About Ammon
Located just east of Idaho Falls in the Upper Snake River Valley, Ammon is one of the fastest-growing communities in Eastern Idaho. The city offers convenient access to shopping, dining, parks, and everyday services while maintaining a comfortable residential atmosphere. Many neighborhoods feature newer homes and developments, along with easy access to nearby schools, walking paths, and community parks.
Ammon is also home to the Ammon Town Center, a major retail area with stores, restaurants, and services that serve residents throughout the surrounding region. With its close proximity to Idaho Falls and convenient access to outdoor recreation across Eastern Idaho, Ammon provides a balance of everyday convenience and nearby opportunities for outdoor activities.
Foothills and mountain views frame the eastern and southern skyline of the city. The Caribou National Forest is located a short drive away, with the Blackfoot Mountain range about ten miles to the south and the Caribou Mountain range roughly twenty miles to the east.

The city maintains nine parks totaling more than 60 acres, providing space for recreation and community gatherings throughout the year. The largest park, McCowin Park, spans approximately 18 acres and includes a swimming pool, splash pad, playgrounds, picnic shelters, walking paths, tennis and pickleball courts, and ball fields. Additional parks throughout the city provide playgrounds, picnic areas, and athletic facilities.
The community is also known for Ammon Days, an annual celebration that brings residents together each summer for local events, activities, and entertainment.
Outdoor recreation is easily accessible throughout the region as well. Within about an hour’s drive, opportunities are available for boating, rafting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, skiing, and other seasonal activities throughout Eastern Idaho.
